  • Post-9/11 GI Bill: 100% tuition coverage after 36 months of service.
  • Credentialing Assistance (CA): Funding for professional certifications via ArmyIgnitED.
Army National Guard
  • State Tuition Waiver: Many states provide 100% tuition to state schools.
  • Federal TA: Access to the same $4,500 annual pool as Active Duty.
  • GI Bill Select: Monthly stipend for students (Chapter 1606).
Army Reserve
  • Federal Tuition Assistance: Primary funding for undergraduate/graduate degrees.
  • GI Bill Kicker: Additional monthly funding for critical MOS roles.
  • Student Loan Repayment: Programs to help pay down existing debt.

Activation & Deployment

When Guard or Reserve soldiers are activated for federal service (Title 10), eligibility for the Post-9/11 GI Bill begins to accrue. Deployment time can significantly increase your percentage level for the GI Bill and may extend certain education benefit timelines. Additionally, while deployed, soldiers may be eligible for enrollment in the Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges network to ensure credits transfer smoothly across institutions. Note: Activation status changes your billing and access protocols; always consult your unit’s Education Officer prior to mobilization.
